| Pictures of me having fun in my new Qajariaq by Valley Canoe Products - this is an awesome boat. These few pictures are from Topsail Island in North Carolina and can be clicked on for a larger image.
Lying on the eastern coastline of North Carolina, perfectly set within thirty minutes in either direction to Jacksonville and Wilmington, it’s been said that Topsail achieved it’s name from a rather unique source, pirates. Blackbeard himself was rumored to roam the island, making his way to Ocracoke. As ships would pass offshore, the tall pirate ship’s masts could be seen in the distance, thus the name of Top-sail, (pronounced Top-sul by most). Of course, this is part of the mysterious legend of the island.

| We found over a hundred fossilized shark teeth while strolling along the beaches of Topsail Island. Natives say they are from when a shark feeds. Apparently, they loose teeth as they are tearing apart their food. Sure glad none tried to eat me while I was kayaking.

| This is the Sea Kayaker June 2005 issue which Great River Outfitters asked me if they could use a picture of me in my new Qajariaq for their advertisement - I, of course was honored and agreed. The Boat was still only a few weeks old and I was just getting used to it being a hard-chined boat. It handled very well in the atlantic coastal surf and was a joy to paddle and roll. I had bought this from Billy at the Kayak Centre in Rhode Island where they handle all Valley boats being imported into the USA. I was fortunate enough to be the first person in the USA to purchase this new boat design and had waited for some time to take posession of it. My initial trial were in Wickford, RI harbor in December and I was paddling and rolling in ice-crusted water. |

| This is the add on page 7 in that issue. I was paddling off the coast of Topsail Island, literally 100-200 yards from our house we had rented at 1050 New River Inlet Road. |
